ROAR strives for a Rotherham that is flourishing with high quality creative activity across all communities and at every stage of people’s lives. We understand that you need space to be creative. For members, we have a variety of studio spaces available, as well as our own resource space that they can use. Resources like a project space with a laser cutter are also available to help students with their creative endeavours.

ROAR currently has 11 private studios at Westgate Chambers. We support a thriving community of talented artists, makers, and creative businesses at ROAR Artspace. From painters and sculptors to designers and educators here are just a few of the artists who create work in our building.
We are currently at full capacity at Westgate Studios, but please check out our Hope Centre studios for an alternative or send us an email to be added to the Westgate waiting list.

ClaySpace — a shared pottery space for local artists and makers!
For just £20/month, get key access to our fully equipped ceramics workspace, including kiln use (with shared firing costs). Enjoy a friendly, flexible, and collaborative environment with up to 7 members at a time. Membership is simple — no contracts, just a quick induction to get you started.

The Buzz Gallery Space is an intimate setting that is perfect for displaying artwork in a close and personal manner. This space is ideal for smaller works of art, or for displaying a series of smaller works in a cohesive manner. The warm and inviting atmosphere of the space encourages viewers to take their time in examining the artwork on display.

Perhaps to rehearse for a dance/drama performance or to hold a weekly class? Or perhaps you are after a meeting room in Rotherham town centre?
We may have the answer for you.
Currently available to rent by the hour or for the day, is a large room here at Westgate Chambers in Rotherham town centre.
Size of the space: 74.7 sq metres.
Some features of the room include:
Mirrors across one wall with optional black-out covering.
Sound system with four speakers and a sound board.
Two bars of lights and a lighting board.
Floor mounted fresnels.
Landing mats.
A number of chairs.
A line of windows bringing in natural light. Costs:
£25 p/h.
Varied day rates starting from £150 (fully serviceable at a greater cost).
Negotiable block book rates. The room would be suitable for a range of activities from dance, drama, acoustic music, conferencing, meetings, away days and other creative activities. The rest of the floor is currently home to ROAR’s office and project room, as well as 6 other studio holders, a real creative hub with full disabled access. Do you need space to be creative but not ready to commit to a bigger space? We've got 3 free wall/desk spaces available for members to sign up for. This is our version of a starter studio, where you can gain the benefits of all our resources including pottery equipment, a drama space, laser cutter and plotter printer, without the financial commitment of a studio contract. These studio spaces are open during office hours and an availability calendar is updated for these weekly.
