Writers Tair & Sean

Tair Rafiq and Sean Webster are two individuals who exemplify resilience and determination in pursuing their creative passions. Despite their different backgrounds, both share an unwavering dedication to the art of writing, inspiring others to chase their dreams.

Tair, growing up in Rotherham, found solace in writing after enduring bullying and isolation. He taught himself the craft and eventually discovered his own voice. With a grant from the Arts Council England Lottery, Tair left his day job to pursue storytelling full-time. He now wakes up each morning eager to engage in his writing, feeling liberated and fulfilled.

Tair believes that writing is an essential part of his being and considers himself fortunate to have a vivid imagination. He encourages others to write freely, even if it seems like nothing, as the act itself holds value. Tair's storytelling often explores eccentric and surreal themes, with a natural inclination towards LGBTQ+ characters and themes. He views writing as a guiding light through life's mundane realities, and he hopes to leave readers and audiences in a state of bewilderment.

Sean Webster, from a working-class background, discovered his passion for writing as a child in Great Houghton. Despite choosing a career in IT, he always longed for more time to dedicate to his writing. The COVID-19 pandemic and a realisation of life's brevity led him to enroll in a Creative Writing MA program. While facing challenges and financial uncertainty, Sean follows a strict writing schedule and actively seeks opportunities to advance his writing career. He draws inspiration from present-day stories and aims to capture the essence of human nature in his work.

Influenced by esteemed authors like Stephen King and classic literature, Sean believes in following one's inner voice and gradually pursuing dreams. Currently working on his debut novel and a horror-themed play, he received funding from the Arts Council England, enabling him to devote himself wholeheartedly to his artistic pursuits. Sean's journey is an inspiration, demonstrating that age should never be a barrier to achieving goals.

Both Tair Rafiq and Sean Webster's stories serve as reminders to embrace creativity and take steps towards realising one's dreams. Their resilience and determination are a testament to the transformative power of following one's passion, inspiring others to embark on their own creative journeys.
