Precious Adegboye

As a young person currently studying for her A-Levels, Precious Adegboye demonstrates how art and academia can weave together to guide forward the lives of young artists. Embracing the joy of studying alongside a desire to create, Precious’s artistic journey beats to the development of new skills that have become integral in her thirst for personal improvement as an artist.

Soon to graduate, Precious looks towards the path ahead with fervour and passion, pushing boundaries of her art in new ways, in particular working towards showing her work through art gallery exhibitions and reaching out to other artists in the sharing of ideas or gaining feedback on personal work feedback in critiques.

Precious's passion stems from a love of academic art. Describing herself as above all else, “loving to learn” , her work draws inspiration from the timeless masterpieces of traditional Renaissance and Romantic paintings that she discovered through academia. The essence of her work in particular borrows from classical impressionist artists such as Claude Monet as alongside modern digital artists contemporary art styles. Guided by passion for traditional mediums of oils, watercolours, and graphite alongside a flair for digital art in her work, she seamlessly blends together a diverse collection of mixed medium pieces in her personal repertoire.

Her study goals also embody this multidimensional-style approach, with her taking A-Levels in History, Fine Art and English Literature as subjects. Precious believes that by understanding these different disciplines in detail, it will bring about art more grounded within the real world human experience, allowing for pieces illustrated with meaningful nuance and emotion, otherwise uncaptured.

Beyond her artistic endeavours, Precious embraces a pivotal role within the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community as an advocate for those who, like herself, are neurodivergent and experience psychosis. She is determined to challenge the negative perceptions and stigmas associated with neurodivergence, and expresses that more needs to be done to foster understanding and inclusivity to reach a brighter, more compassionate future within these communities.

Precious describes art as holding an extraordinary power for people, transcending boundaries, touching the depths of the human soul in indescribable ways. That a world bereft of art would be unthinkable. This unwavering passion and an unyielding love for her craft, Precious’s work speaks volumes in resonating with others and illuminates the profound impact that art can have on both the artist and the world around them.
