Our Studios

ROAR strives for a Rotherham that is flourishing with high quality creative activity across all communities and at every stage of people’s lives. We understand that you need space to be creative. For members, we have a variety of studio spaces available, as well as our own resource space that they can use. Resources like a project space with a laser cutter are also available to help students with their creative endeavours.

 
  • ROAR currently has 11 studios at Westgate Chambers. We support a thriving community of talented artists, makers, and creative businesses at ROAR Artspace. From painters and sculptors to designers and educators here are just a few of the artists who create work in our building.

  • Are you looking for a space to create and collaborate with other like-minded individuals? We have the perfect opportunity for you! Our shared artist studio offers a creative and inspiring environment where you can work on your art alongside other talented artists.

  • Are your organisation/group looking for some space?

    Perhaps to rehearse for a dance/drama performance or to hold a weekly class? Or perhaps you are after a meeting room in Rotherham town centre?

    We may have the answer for you.

    Currently available to rent by the hour or for the day, is a large room here at Westgate Chambers in Rotherham town centre.

    Size of the space: 74.7 sq metres.

    Some features of the room include:

    Mirrors across one wall with optional black-out covering.

    Sound system with four speakers and a sound board.

    Two bars of lights and a lighting board.

    Floor mounted fresnels.

    Landing mats.

    A number of chairs.

    A line of windows bringing in natural light. Costs:

    £25 p/h.

    Varied day rates starting from £150 (fully serviceable at a greater cost).

    Negotiable block book rates. The room would be suitable for a range of activities from dance, drama, acoustic music, conferencing, meetings, away days and other creative activities. The rest of the floor is currently home to ROAR’s office and project room, as well as 6 other studio holders, a real creative hub with full disabled access.   • The Buzz Gallery Space is an intimate setting that is perfect for displaying artwork in a close and personal manner. This space is ideal for smaller works of art, or for displaying a series of smaller works in a cohesive manner. The warm and inviting atmosphere of the space encourages viewers to take their time in examining the artwork on display.

  • The library is a small, inviting space with a comfortable seating area and a variety of books. The media lab is a great place to work on projects, with a large worktable, plenty of outlets, and a printer.

  • Do you need space to be creative? We offer members resource space to use, and our resources include a pottery studio, a drama space and a laser cutter.
